Welcome to Burt Math INC. Maybe you will find help with your math here or find the other resources helpful. Mathematics is something we all use everyday in a variety of ways. We calculate the change we need to make a purchase for the exact amount. We make sure we have enough money in hand before we go out on a date. We figure the approximate cost of an item that is discounted 20%. We determine how much the temperature has gone up on a day that started at 22 below and warmed up to 15 above. We calculate the number of days remaining before the end of school. We try to find our gas mileage on the new car we just bought. We try to keep our checking account register up to date. We calculate the size of three pieces of board that can be cut from from a long board seven feet, ten and three fourths inches long. We convert the size of the seven liter engine just pulled from an older model Ford to cubic inches. We look at the grades on a report card and try to figure if the grade point average can possibly be correct. Mathematics is everywhere.
